LEXCEL
What is Lexcel?
Lexcel is the Law Society’s Practice Management quality mark, written specifically for solicitors. The Standard provides a structured and practical approach to Practice Management and is based on the following eight areas :
- Structures & Policies
- Strategy, the Provision of Services & Marketing
- Financial Management
- Facilities & IT
- People Management
- Supervision & Operational Risk Management
- Client Care
- File & Case Management
Lexcel can be used in any size or type of practice including sole practitioners, in–house legal departments, local government and large practices. The Standard is flexible in its application and specifies overall standards – not set procedures.
The new Lexcel Standard (Lexcel v4) was launched in autumn 2007 and reflects relevant changes in law and practice management. It provides a framework of best practice principles for managing your legal practice. In particular, Lexcel helps practitioners to comply with the new Solicitor’s Code of Conduct 2007 and other regulations.
